A few days later and the deck is looking more like a deck
We took some chairs out over the weekend and enjoyed just sitting and talking out there. The railing should be going on soon.

Day6:

Hello friends and family. I have been promising to post some pictures and keep getting caught up in other things. I am trying to make some time now to post a few of the “recent” events.
Easter with the girls
Final Walk-Through of New House (before we trashed it with all of our boxes)
Moving In
Nadia’s Birthday Party at Little Gym
Memorial Day at Gilroy Gardens
I think that catches me up for now. I will try to make a post soon about all of the things that have been going on.
Another update on our move. We are now moved into the new house. The big move day was Tuesday 4/13/10. Due to some delays in the banking process (seems like every little transfer requires 24 hours to clear) we did not close escrow on Friday 4/9/10 like we expected. As a result, we had a lot fewer people helping us move so it took a bit longer. BTW, thanks so much for everyone that helped! We were still loading in dark that night. I got a pick-up truck rental for a week starting on Wednesday and Sheac Yee and I moved the rest of the stuff from the inside of the house over the next few days. We had everything out of the inside of the house by Sunday 4/18/10. And the painters started work on the old house on 4/19/10 getting it ready from whoever lives there next. We got phone on 4/15/10 and finally got the internet working right this past weekend 4/25/10. There is still a lot of work to be done to both houses but we are making steady progress. We both love the new house and think the girls do too. Sorry there are no pictures yet, but I hope to take some this week.
The house is 90% complete and it is looking good. We had the pre-carpet walk-through today and the builder went over all of the work they had done and what is left to do. Sheac Yee and I are happy with just about everything and the things we wish were different are not a big deal to us. If all goes well we will have the keys to the house on April 9th!

We had our second walk-through on Feb. 10. Everything looks great with the exception of 3 minor issues that the builder is working on correcting now. Here are 2 more pictures of the progress:

It has been a while since I have posted, but here are some pictures of the new house.

Second story frame in progress on Jan. 16, 2010

It has been a while since I have written. A lot has happened, but one of the biggest events is that we are getting a new house. Sheac Yee and I are both really excited about it. It is a new construction and about 5 minutes away from our current house. There are not many useful pictures yet, but here is what is done so far.

My oldest daughter went to her first day of preschool today. She seemed to really like it. I am glad that she did not cry and hold on to our legs like you see in the movies.
Me: Okay Mekayla, mommy and I are going to go now. You have fun in school.
Mekayla: Bye-bye daddy. (without looking up from the blocks she was playing with)
Me: Can I have a hug?
Mekayla: Uh-huh. (gives a quick hug and goes back to playing)
Maybe a little more concern would have boosted my ego
When we picked her up, she was happy to see us, but still independent.
Mekayla: I’m glad you and mommy came back Daddy. (said matter-of-factly)
We picked her up and she had only good things to say about it. I hope all of her school days are as happy.
